His name is Alexander Chen. He's based out of Boston, Massachusetts. He started playing the classical piano and the viola at a very early age. The guy is influenced by the musical geniuses of Bjork, Sigur Ros and Mazzy Star among others, and it shows in most of his tunes. Chen got his break when he mailed his demo to his favourite band - The Notwist, who were working on their then fairly new label Alien Transistor. And when Notwist was touring the USA following the success of their 2002 album Neon Golden, Chen got his tickets and was all excited to see their show. A week before the German band came to Boston, they mailed Chen and told him they would like to meet. Our Boy was kicked. Things went well. And about a year later, after working on it from his Boston apartment, Chen came out as the Boy In Static with his new record which he wrote, performed and produced by himself, except for one track where two other friends make an appearance. Soon, he picked out members for the band to take his music to the grounds and play live while opening for Notwist and others. Towards the end of 2006 he was signed to US based Mush Records. He soon went back to his recording equipment and started work on his sophomore album Violet, inspired by his affliction towards sunlight as a kid. 专辑曲目: 01. First Love 02. Where It Ends 03.
