As I Lay Dying 是圣地亚哥的一支Metalcore乐队,乐队于2001年由主唱 Tim Lambesis ,鼓手 Jordan Mancino 和吉他 Evan White 组成,不久就发行了 Beneath the Encasing of Ashes ,第2年又发行了 Beneath the Encasing of Ashes .到了2003年,乐队在 Metal Blade 发行了第1张专辑 Frail Words Collapse 后吉他 Evan White 离开了乐队,之后加入了2个吉他手 Phil Sgrosso , Nick Hipa 和贝司手 Clint Norris .新阵容在2005年录制发行了新专辑 Shadows Are Security .
