Farrah are a British indie rock band. They have released 4 studio albums since 2001 and toured internationally since their formation. Though less well known in their home country they continue to have considerable success in Japan. Meredith Godreau is an American singer-songwriter performing under the pseudonym Gregory and the Hawk. Active since 2003, Godreau initially enjoyed independent success with 2 EPs and a full length album selling a total of 15,000 copies. Hard-Fi is an English alternative rock band formed in Staines, Surrey in 2003. The band´s members are Richard Archer (vocals and guitar), Kai Stephens (bass guitar), Ross Phillips (guitar) and Steve Kemp (drums). They achieved chart success with their third single, "Hard to Beat" and then followed by other successful singles such as "Cash Machine" and "Living for the Weekend", which all reached top 15 in the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album Stars of CCTV was released on 4 July 2005, and although receiving critical acclaim (NME called it album of the year and was nominated for the Mercury Prize and two BRIT Awards, Best British Group and Best British Rock Act), it didn't reach #1 in the UK albums chart until six months later on 22 January 2006. It originally peaked at number 6. The band's second album, Once Upon a Time in the West, was released on 3 September 2007 and reached number 1 in its first week. The band were originally a quartet: lyricist and rhythm guitarist Richey Edwards mysteriously vanished on 1 February 1995. As of November 2007, total sales of the band's albums and singles have been estimated more than 20 million units. Straightener (often written STRAIGHTENER) is a Japanese rock band. The band started out as a duo with Atsushi Horie (vocals/guitar) and Shinpei Nakayama (drums) in 1998. They established an independent label named Ghost Records in 2002. Hidekazu Hinata joined the band as bassist in 2003, giving the band a heavier sound. In October of the same year they released a single, "TRAVELING GARGOYLE" from Toshiba EMI. They have performed at numerous festivals and live tours. The band toured all over Japan during their LINEAR tour in 2007. Their latest tour will be promoting the albumn NEXUS.
