Envy, a 5-piece band that seamlessly blends the post-hardcore sounds, with more mellow undertones, long intros, spoken word, some singing, and screaming that is not over the top, but just right. On "Insomniac Doze", Envy has taken a much more mellow sounding approach to writing when compared to "A Dead Sinking Story". While the full length is only a mere 7 songs, the shear length and complexity of the songs will keep anyone listening to this release over and over. Between the beautifully haunting guitar work, the simple and tasteful drum work, and just the overall honesty of vocals, one cannot help but fall in complete love with this release. While the songs may be done in Japanese, that does not stop the somber, beautiful sonic assault ranging from swirling guitars and mellow drum beats to post-hardcore aggressiveness that Envy bring to the table. This band will get its hooks into you, and take you for a ride you will not soon forget.
